The Balkans are easily one of the fieriest places on planet Earth, so  that's a good point why there are so many angry and pissed-off  bands. While riots and protests against governments in Bulgaria and Turkey are continuing, two hardcore outfits from neighbour countries - My Turn from Greece and The Bridge from Serbia, release a split EP and they both hit hard in the face.

I have already written about The Bridge before their concert in Sofia last April. Back then they sounded to me on the border between new and old school hardcore and now I think they have moved on to more metal-inflicted guitar riffs in both songs here - "Apocalyptic Preview" (by the way - surprised with the awesome guitar solo) and "Monuments In Silence". Still The Bridge have kept the emotional approach from ...Between EP. In brief - this band keeps getting better.

The other band on the record - My Turn is more thrashy and more into the old school hardcore mantra in the likes of the straight edge titans Gorilla Biscuits and Slapshot. Their first song - "Don'т Turn Away" is a bit a mosh-pit killer and the other one "To The Kids" is such a powerful sing-along anthem where the tempo varies.

This split comes out in July on Goodwill Records. In the meantime The Bridge have another new song "Too Tired, Too Beaten, Too Left Alone" (not on this record) accompanied by a video by AmpsOnAir. So my call is: don't miss this release if you already know My Turn and The Bridge. And if you hear about them now - enjoy or burn in hell... just kidding.

Балканският полуостров е едно от най-огнените места на планетата Земя и поради тази причина не е чудно, че тук има толкова много гневни банди. И докато бунтовете и протестите срещу правителствата в България и Турция продължават, две хардкор групи от съседни страни - My Turn от Гърция и The Bridge от Сърбия, решиха да издадат съвместно EP, което удря право в лицето.

Вече писах за The Bridge преди техния концерт в София през април. Тогава те звучаха на границата между ню скуул и олд скуул хардкора, а сега мисля, че са преминали към по-метализиран китарен саунд в двете парчета тук - Apocalyptic Preview (между другото - изненадах се от якото соло) и Monuments In Silence. Все пак The Bridge не са изоставили своя емоционален подход от ...Between EP и като цяло мога да кажа, че тази банда става все по-добра.

Другата група My Turn звучи по-траш, с повече влияния от стари хардкор/стрейт-едж титани като Gorilla Biscuits и Slapshot. Едното им парче тук - Don't Turn Away е същински мош-пит убиец, докато сменящата темпото песен To The Kids е мощен химн, в който няма как да не идва да припяваш силно.

Сплитът излиза през юли чрез Goodwill Records. Междувременно The Bridge имат още една нова песен (но не на този запис) - Too Tired, Too Beaten, Too Left Alone, акомпанирана от видеоклип на AmpsonAir. И така: не пропускайте сплита на двете групи, ако вече сте запознати с тях. Ако пък сега ги чувате за първи път - насладете им се или горете в Ада... Шегувам се.
